Yesterday, the Brookwood Medical Tent at Sloss Fest was busy. Today is even busier.
Chief Donald Jones with the Birmingham Fire and Recuse team at station #1 said that the first injury of the day was a fractured arm.
Since then, he has seen dehydration and blisters become the most frequent injuries.
“We’re running out of Band-Aids!” He said while laughing.
If you need somewhere to cool down at the festival, check out the shade tent by the Blast Stage or take a seat under the bridge.
Try getting something cool from Steel City Pops or Repicci’s Italian Ice and Gelato by the Steam Stage.
Chief Jones said his advice for festivalgoers is simple. “Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Then, bring some hydration with you.”
He added that visitors should bring sunscreen, because the medical tents do not provide any.
And to cut down on the Band-Aid consumption? “Please, wear proper shoes.”
